MEYERSDALE, Pa. - Katherine S. "Kate" Beal, 85 of Meyersdale, died June 30, 2008 at her home. Born Jan. 3, 1923 in West Haven, Conn., a daughter of the late Alexander J. and Mary (Lange) Stephens. Also preceded in death by her husband, Bernard M. Beal, March 10, 1963; and these brothers and sisters, Paul A. Stephens, Alexander Stephens, Lillian Shumaker, Mabel Hornbake and Gloria Ritchey. She is survived by her son, Bernard M. "Bernie" Beal and wife Carol A., Meyersdale; granddaughter, Julie A. (Beal), wife of James M. Kretchman; and three great grandchildren, Mary Katherine "Katie", Lauren Elizabeth and James Logan "Jimmy". Kate will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and special friends.
