Western Union appoints SBI as Principal Agent

The Western Union Company (NYSE: WU), a worldwide leader in money transfer services, has appointed State Bank of India (SBI) as a principal Agent. Reserve Bank of India has approved the appointment of SBI, taking the number of Western Union principal Agents in India to 11. SBI is the largest bank in India and a Fortune 500 company with more than 10,000 branches. It has signed a multi-year agreement with Western Union. SBI has been a sub-Agent of Western Union through Reliance Money (previously Kuoni) since 2005.
