Royal Golf hotel in Dornoch sold for £5m

The Royal Golf Hotel in Dornoch Scotland has been sold to a private buyer for almost £5m, after being on the market for less than six weeks. The 24-bedroom inn, which overlooks the first tee on the world famous Royal Dornoch golf course, was bought in December 2006 by Peter de Savary’s Havana West, when the London and Edinburgh Swallow Group went into liquidation. De Savary had planned to turn the Royal Golf Hotel in Dornoch into a top-class luxury holiday complex by spring 2008, but later abandoned the idea. The Royal Golf Hotel has planning permission where it can be refurbished to provide 33 en-suite rooms and 11 luxury cottages within the hotels grounds.
