Sir, – I read last Friday's front-page article in 'The Northern Scot' on Elgin gridlock fears with interest, and would agree that chaos is inevitable if the volume of traffic continues to increase unchecked. I support measures which increase the number of journeys on foot, by two wheels (powered or not) and by public transport, and I applaud the council's efforts to make Elgin a sustainable travel town. I would be happy to car-share on my daily commute from Elgin to Inverurie and therefore cut traffic in Elgin, Fochabers and Keith. I have registered on the HITRANS website , as detailed in your paper on June 13, and I encourage all commuters to do likewise. However, is it me?
