• Associated Press • June 27, 2008 MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. -- Gov. Mitch Daniels yesterday named Edwin Buss, superintendent of the Indiana State Prison in Michigan City, as the new commissioner for the Department of Correction. Buss, 42, will succeed Dave Donahue, who is resigning effective Aug. 1 to become warden of the Kentucky State Reformatory in La Grange and an adviser to Kentucky's Criminal Justice Council. Buss, a native of LaPorte, has been superintendent of the prison since 2005. He was superintendent of the Westville Correctional Facility, the state's largest prison, from 2002 to 2005. Buss began his career as a correctional officer at the Indiana State Prison in 1987.
