Nursing Alumni honored

College of Nursing Honors Alumni Seton Hall > News & Events Thursday, June 26, 2008 by: Joette Rosato On May 15, 2008, College of Nursing Dean, Phyllis Hansell, faculty and alumni honored two alumni for their accomplishments in the field of nursing at the Highlawn Pavilion in West Orange, NJ. Dr. Maura C. Ryan '74/M.S.N. '79 was awarded the Margaret C. Haley Award. Ryan's accomplishments include directing the Gerontological Nurse Practitioner (GNP) programs at Columbia University and Hunter College, establishing her own private GNP practice and starting the first burn unit in New Jersey at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. Her previous honors include Gerontological Nurse of the Year from the NJSNA and a listing among 2,000 Notable American Women in 1991. Ryan has also written many publications and is a founding...
