Rio Rancho couple accused of racehorse swindle

Associated Press RIO RANCHO, N.M. – A Rio Rancho man and woman are accused of selling racehorses they didn't own and fleecing at least 20 people nationwide out of $183,000. The U.S. Marshals Service arrested 39-year-old Billy Sanchez and 20-year-old Rosalie Trujillo at a Las Vegas, Nev., casino on Wednesday. They are being held in jail on $1 million bond each. They face 20 counts of fraud and another count of racketeering. Investigators allege the swindle dated back to 2005. Police contend the couple would offer to sell prize racehorses, but they would disappear once they got the money.
