Fest showcases eclectic mix of films

Audiences revel in friendly atmosphere, arty fare WHAT ABOUT BOB? Cannes closer 'What Just Happened?' opens Karlovy Vary, with star Robert De Niro pegged for an honor. Ask a Czech college student his or her favorite director, and the answer is just as likely to be Kim Ki-duk as Jiri Menzel or Martin Scorsese. Local hero Menzel may seem an obvious choice, as does Scorsese. But a (relatively) obscure Korean filmmaker with little widespread exposure outside the festival circuit? Where does he spring from?
