Posted to the web 25 June 2008 Ndola A SUSPECTED thief was yesterday morning shot dead by Ndola police after he tried to escape from police custody in Chipulukusu township. Police spokesperson, Bonny Kapeso confirmed the death of a man only identified as Kelvin, saying he was shot dead between 04:00 and 05:00 hours by police. Mr Kapeso said Kelvin was suspected to have been involved in a burglary and theft that happened in May and had been on the police wanted list ever since. He said members of the public tipped police on the whereabouts of Kelvin, who was picked up by police in the early hours of yesterday at a nightclub in Ndola.
