Photograph: Lee Mills/Action Images Bolton Wanderers have completed the signing of Fabrice Muamba from Birmingham City for a fee believed to be approximately £5.5m. The midfielder was reportedly also a target for Wigan, but Bolton have now clinched the deal, with their readiness to pay the fee in full apparently a significant factor. Having released Ivan Campo at the end of last season, Bolton boss Gary Megson had been eager to add depth to his midfield options. Muamba's athleticism and combativeness are attributes strongly admired within the Reebok Stadium and he will now compete for places in the centre of midfield alongside Kevin Nolan and Gavin McCann.
