Strategies to focus on HIV/AIDS in tourism sector

Special Correspondent CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Tourism Department and the Tamil Nadu AIDS Control Society (TANSAC) on Friday chalked out strategies to focus on HIV/AIDS in the tourism sector. Explaining the objectives of the joint initiative at an HIV-AIDS and Tourism Strategy Workshop organised by the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation, the Tourism and Culture Department Secretary, V. Irai Anbu, told presspersons that an action plan would be evolved for the next two years and a calendar of events prepared to sensitise the tourist guides, tour operators, the hospitality industry, and those connected with the tourism sector.
