This morning's marquee features third-quarter results for Waddell & Reed Financial Inc., which is expected to show profits equal to 33 cents a share, according to analysts' estimates collected by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically are adjusted for discontinued operations, extraordinary items or other factors. They typically vary somewhat from net income as reported under generally accepted accounting principles. Also today, UMB Financial Corp. is likely to report earnings of 49 cents a share, Thomson's estimates show. Compass Minerals International Inc., with an estimated profit of 70 cents a share, reports after markets close....
