Mick LaSalle, Chronicle Movie Critic Thursday, October 22, 2009 The movies featured at the Clay Theatre's French Cinema Now festival - an annual event sponsored by the San Francisco Film Society and the French-American Culture Society - will not be returning to a theater near you. Perhaps one or two of the 11 new films featured in this one-week event will find some kind of distribution, but don't hold your breath. And forget about DVD, unless you want to buy DVDs from Europe, and even then about 80 percent of those have no subtitles. Basically, you are presented here with an opportunity disguised as an inconvenience: The inconvenient part is that starting Thursday, you may just have to live at the Clay Theatre.
