When you're the manager of the Dodgers, that is very difficult, even when you're thousands of miles from home. Joe Torre learned that lesson again Tuesday night, an off-day in the National League Championship Series, when he attended the Bruce Springsteen concert at the Spectrum, a stone's throw from Citizens Bank Park. As he walked to his seat, some in the crowd recognized Torre and began chanting, "Beat L.A.! Beat L.A.!" "Yeah, but they responded to this, too," a laughing Torre said before Game 5, putting his index finger to his lips to simulate shushing the spectators. "They were very kind.
