Terms have not yet been announced. He has been the GM since Sept. 20, 1999, meaning he's already been the club's No. 1 personnel man for more than a decade. Today's announcement came as no surprise. After a disastrous beginning to the 2009 season, O'Dowd's shrewd personnel moves helped the Rockies turn around their season as the club made its second trip to the postseason in three years. The turnaround began on May 29 when O'Dowd came to painful decision to fire Clint Hurdle, the Rockies' longtime manager and O'Dowd's close friend.
