Blu-ray gets more features

Stephen Fenech and Jennifer Dudley-Nicholson SINCE their 2006 launch, Blu-ray Discs have revolutionised home entertainment with their cinema-quality images and audio. These advanced DVDs first brought high-definition pictures into our lounge rooms, complete with riveting 7.1-channel audio, changing the quality of in-home cinemas. But there is more to come from the Blu-ray format. Twentieth Century Fox recently outlined its plans for the format, and they include using the technology to deliver more than a movie on a disc. Content development senior vice-president Mike Mulvihill says the studio will be looking to collaborate more closely with filmmakers to deliver an unsurpassed home-entertainment experience.
