Yanks' investment in ace working wonders in postseason NEW YORK -- It is difficult to say that somebody playing a game is worth $161 million. But when you look at how much better CC Sabathia is than some of the highly paid but overmatched pitchers the Yankees have started in the postseason in recent years, even $161 million begins to look like a reasonable investment. The big guy did exactly what he was supposed to do on Friday night in Game 1 of the American League Championship Series. He stopped the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, a team flying high after a sweep of the Boston Red Sox in the AL Division Series, on one run over eight innings.
