Post office will not be reopened

Royal Mail said changes were needed to sustain the service Royal Mail has said a village post office will remain closed despite opposition from locals and politicians. The company said future services at Fintry in Stirlingshire would be provided by a mobile unit, which will visit the area twice a week. The news came after residents, the local MP, MSP and Stirling Council all said they were against the plan. The village post office was closed on 12 August following the resignation of the subpostmistress.
