Kua to defend his Turtle Bay Amateur title

Manoa Cup champion TJ Kua will defend his title at the seventh annual Turtle Bay Amateur, Saturday and Sunday at the resort's Fazio and Palmer Courses. More than 224 players have signed up, including Punahou senior Bradley Shigezawa, who won at Turtle Bay in 2007 and lost to Kua by two shots last year. Army Invitational champ Ryan Perez is also in the field, along with 'Iolani sophomore Lorens Chan, who tied for fourth last year. Golfers tee off at 7:30 a.m. each day. This is the final event for amateurs to earn points for Governor's Cup.
