INDIANAPOLIS - Meb Keflezighi has been named USA Track & Field's Athlete of the Week after setting an American record in the men's 20 km Sunday en route to winning the Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon in San Jose, Calif. The 2004 Olympic silver medalist in the men's marathon, Keflezighi's 20 km split of 57 minutes 52 seconds broke Ryan Hall's previous record of 57:54 set in 2006. Keflezighi went on to win the half marathon in 1:01:00, bettering his previous personal best by 25 seconds. His half-marathon time ranks him number three all-time on the American list. Now in its eighth year, USATF's Athlete of the Week program is designed to recognize outstanding performers at all levels of the sport.
