LEXINGTON, Ky. — Keeneland Race Course tries to be a throwback in some respects, but its management doesn't see nostalgia in parking troubles. “This is an area that we've felt the last few years is a victim of increased crowds,” Keeneland President Nick Nicholson said. “This is what happens when more people use a facility that was started in 1936 and built for about 8,000 people.” Nicholson is hoping for as many as 20,000 on each of the first three days of the thoroughbred track's fall meet, which begins Friday and ends Oct. 31. Three big points, particularly for those coming from Frankfort on U.S. 60, are: Tailgaters entering through Gate 2 will have to drive past the first entrance to the tailgating area and enter it from the rear so as not to back up traffic at Gate 2.
