Green Bay Packers warn of ticket scams

Fans urged to buy only from reputable sources By Patti Zarling • pzarling@greenbaypressgazette.com • September 25, 2009 A Green Bay Packers fan recently lost $4,000 in a likely scam when he attempted to buy a season-ticket package online and it never arrived, officials said. The seller claimed the tickets somehow got lost in delivery. Such scams are not unusual in the age of the Internet, consumer advocates and the Packers organization said Thursday at Lambeau Field. "Every year around this time, we get complaints from people who ordered tickets and have not received them," said Bob Zaspel, consumer protection regional manager for the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection., adding, "People need to be extremely careful about who they buy from."
