Greetings from Newark Airport. Always nice to be back here. I hope everybody had a safe, fun-filled holiday weekend. Most importantly, I hope you all had a chance to buy yourself one of those red Yankees hats. (Kidding) Having had the good fortune to miss a 12-inning game Saturday (sorry, McCarron) and a four-hour slugfest Sunday (sorry, Botte), here are some thoughts from the weekend… The loss of Chien-Ming Wang is not good for the Yankees. I know the Wanger hasn’t been pitching like himself this season, but he was having a good game before his arm started bothering him, getting about 10 or 11 ground ball outs in the first five innings. Wang had made progress over each of the last four starts, and he was clearly getting better. If Alfredo Aceves gets the nod to replace Wang, I’m sure he’ll do a perfectly fine job. But that...
