Wang will be on DL more than 15 days

BY ARTHUR STAPLE | arthur.staple@newsday.com Chien-Ming Wang is shut down until after the All-Star break, meaning his stint on the disabled list with a strained right shoulder will last much longer than the 15-day minimum. Joe Girardi said Wang, who left Saturday's start after 51/3 innings with the injury, will not throw a ball until at least July 17, when the team reconvenes after the four-day break. "We don't know exactly how he's going to respond to 12 days off and then, once he starts playing catch, how he'll respond to that," he said. "We just want to give him some rest and a chance to build back up a little bit."
