Cancellara banks time trial as favourites stay in contention

The Swiss, a two-time world and Olympic champion at the time trial discipline, won the 15.5km race, stopping the clock at 19min32.14sec to give the Saxo Bank team the first yellow jersey of the three-week enduro. Contador of Astana was 19sec down, while Britain's Bradley Wiggins, a dual Olympic gold medallist on the velodrome, completed the podium.
