Sean Long injury adds to St Helens woe

St Helens are counting the cost of a shock defeat to Salford after Sean Long suffered a suspected broken jaw on Friday night. The Super League leaders went down 20-10 at The Willows in one of the most surprising results of the season and their misery was compounded by a serious injury to their scrum-half. Having agreed to join Hull next year, the 32 year-old may now only have limited games remaining in his Saints career. Saints, also missing Keiron Cunningham, Leon Pryce, Jon Wilkin and Matt Gidley, struggled from the start as the Reds opened up a 16-0 half-time lead with two tries from the outstanding Stefan Ratchford and one from Darrell Goulding.
