Twins rally from six down, only to fall to Tigers in 16 innings MINNEAPOLIS -- Placido Polanco singled in the go-ahead run in the top of the 16th inning as the Detroit Tigers outlasted the Minnesota Twins, winning a marathon, 11-9, on Friday night at the Metrodome. After Ramon Santiago reached on a single to center, Curtis Granderson then doubled to right, advancing Santiago to third. Polanco drove in the go-ahead run off reliever R.A. Dickey (1-1) with a ground-ball base hit to left. Ryan Rayburn and Magglio Ordonez also singled in runs to secure the win for the Tigers. Detroit reliever Freddy Dolsi (1-0) pitched the final three innings to record the victory.
