Lori Drew proclaims innocence in the wake of acquittal by judge

Jul 03, 2009 (St. Louis Post-Dispatch - McClatchy-Tribune News Service via COMTEX) -- Lori Drew, acquitted this week of cyber-bullying-related charges connected to the 2006 suicide of 13-year-old Megan Meier, proclaimed her innocence Friday and said she hopes to move on. "In my view, it was proper that this case was dismissed, primarily because I simply did not do what the U.S. attorney in Los Angeles accused me of doing," Drew said in a prepared statement. The statement also said the Drew family shares the Meier family's grief and that Drew hopes the legal outcome would be "a turning point for all families involved in returning to a more-normal life."
