Some iPhone 3GS smartphones are overheating to the point of discoloration, which may be attributed to the new longer-lasting battery. Apple has yet to respond to the reports, but a late-June post on its support site unhelpfully warns against extensive periods of listening to music in direct sunlight. Everyone knows the Apple iPhone 3GS is hot, but some users are finding it unbearably so. Some white iPhones are reportedly overheating to the point of causing pink or brown discoloration on the back of the device. The French tech site Nowhere Else first reported the story on June 26, including images of lightly discolored phones, and at PC World, writer Melissa J.
