NCTD to pursue bidding for bus-division operator

OCEANSIDE — The board of directors for the North County Transit District will consider contracting out its bus operations to increase service and save money. The board voted 8-0 yesterday to direct staff to prepare a bid proposal. Bus operations will consume $42 million of the district's $88 million budget for the fiscal year that began Wednesday.
