As it continues to contest charges that 45,000 employees on its rolls were “fake”, the MCD on Friday said only 567 of its regular staff are yet to register themselves under the biometric system of attendance. These employees have till July 15 to register in the biometric system, Municipal Commissioner K S Mehra told reporters here. Reports in a section of the media had claimed that during the ongoing drive to register all MCD staff under the biometric system, 45,000 employees were found “missing”.
