PRICE • FLORIDA TODAY • July 2, 2009 JetAmerica, the low-cost air carrier scheduled to begin flights out of Melbourne International Airport on July 14, is delaying its takeoff by at least a month. The Toledo, Ohio-based start-up was to begin flights from smaller airports in Melbourne, South Bend, Ind., Minneapolis, Minn., and elsewhere this month, but in e-mails sent Thursday to ticket holders, it blamed a “policy clarification” at Newark International Airport on the delay. More than 6,000 round-trip tickets for flights from Melbourne were purchased in the first week of sales last month, including about 4,000 to Newark.
