On the same day they lost forward Marian Gaborik to free agency, the Minnesota Wild made a big splash by coming to terms with right wing Martin Havlat on a six-year contract. The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports the deal is worth $30 million, which is the richest total contract in team history. The first day of free agency saw Gaborik, who had spent his entire seven-year career with the Wild, go to the New York Rangers in a five-year package.
