Barak, who plans to meet US Middle East envoy George Mitchell in New York on Monday, will propose the freeze as a compromise to the demand from Israel's closest ally for a complete halt to settlement activity, the reports said. Barak declined to confirm or deny such a plan. "The issue at hand hasn't been fully finalized yet," he said before the weekly Cabinet meeting.
