Pronger heading from Anaheim to Philly in blockbuster deal

Chris Pronger, one of the top defensemen in the NHL, was part of a draft-day trade from Anaheim to Philadelphia. MONTREAL — There was an expectation that the first round of the NHL draft Friday would include buzz about the future of a 6-6 defenseman. But it was supposed to be about Sweden's 6-6 draft pick Victor Hedman, and not former Norris Trophy winner Chris Pronger. The Philadelphia Flyers stole the spotlight early in the first round by acquiring Pronger from the Anaheim Ducks by sending an impressive package that included their 2009 and 2010 first-round picks, plus defenseman Luca Sbisa and forward Joffrey Lupul.
