I woke up early today to my aunt's heralding news: Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett have both passed away. It was just yesterday when I read on the news that Farrah Fawcett's long time partner Ryan O'Neal married her and then the next day, she dies. Even if the world knew of her long struggle with intestinal cancer, it's still very sad to hear of her demise. I didn't really grow up in the 70's (im an 80's-90's kid) so I can't say I watched her in Charlie's Angels. But I do love this iconic photo of her: This was the shot that propelled Ms. Fawcett into stardom. Hastily done at ex-husband Lee Majors' home, photographer Bruce Mc Broom just took a blanket for a backdrop and Farrah Fawcett chose this now iconic red swimsuit over a bikini (to hide a childhood stomach scar).
