Australia's women's 4x400m relay team have qualified for August's World Athletics Championships in Berlin after an impressive victory at the Osaka Grand Prix meeting in Japan. The line-up of Tamsyn Lewis, Pirenee Steinert, Madeleine Pape and Jody Henry ran a time of 3min 28.97sec to finish ahead of China (3min 32sec) and Japan (3min 32.74sec). The winning time was more than two seconds inside the qualifying mark of 3min 31sec. It capped a strong day for the Australian contingent at the fourth leg of the IAAF world tour, with Olympic silver medalist Sally McLellan, Kimberley Mickle and Lachlan Renshaw also winning their respective events.
