Mexico's state-owned oil company said Monday that it had begun evacuating workers from offshore platforms in the Gulf of Mexico as Tropical Storm Marco roared closer and forecasters warned it could approach hurricane strength. On the other side of Mexico, Norbert strengthened into a Category 1 hurricane late Monday over the Pacific Ocean but forecasters said it was not expected to threaten land.
