Lebanon eyes educational reforms this year

The Lebanese Education Minister announced that the ministry is planning to add significant improvements to the educational sector through the upcoming 2008-2009 academic year, The Daily Star reported. The minister, who held a meeting with 15 former education ministers, said that it was crucial to introduce the concept of sustainable development to school curriculums, as schools and universities should be open to the society they live in. She also said that Lebanese students should be made aware about their environment, society and economy.
