Tangle-foot Twins

The Minnesota Twins will begin a crucial 14-game road swing Thursday when they travel to Los Angeles to play the Angels in the first game of a four-game series. The Twins, usually very fundamentally sound, have committed 84 errors this season to rank 22nd in fielding percentage. The Angels are sitting comfortably atop the AL West standings. Twins (Baker) at Angels (Lackey) LAS VEGAS - Minnesota has already committed as many or more errors as it did in three of Ron Gardenhire's six full seasons as manager. The Twins are currently on pace to have more errors than any previous Gardenhire-led team. The club had 102 in 2005. The Twins' defensive efficiency, as ranked by Baseball Prospectus, was also 22nd in the big leagues.
