Chris "Mad Dog" Russo Joins Sirius XM

The veteran radio personality of Sports talk radio, Chris 'Mad Dog' Russo has joined the satellite radio channel Sirius XM Radio with an exclusive five-year contract. While it is not as big a deal as Howard Stern or Oprah Winfrey the addition is vindication of the notion of if you 'build it, they will indeed come'. This news comes a week after company CEO Mel Karmazin told Bloomberg Television that the newly merged company planned to eliminate executive positions in order to cut costs. He said he had already identified jobs that could be cut to create substantial savings. Russo will be given a five-hour daily show and is the first big name contract since the company completed the acquisition of rival XM Satellite radio.
