Bullpen rebounds to shut down streaking Cubs MIAMI -- Twenty-four hours after reaching the lowest of lows, the Marlins' bullpen reached the highest of highs in a 2-1 win against the Cubs on Saturday night. Such is the roller-coaster ride of a pennant race in August, and the tough 13-game swing the Marlins are currently on -- which has them 5-7 against the Phillies, Mets, Cardinals and Cubs with one to go. With the bases loaded and two outs in a one-run game in the top of the seventh, Matt Lindstrom came out of the bullpen and, after seven pitches, got pinch-hitter Derrek Lee to ground into a fielder's choice at shortstop. After that, Lindstrom retired pinch-hitter Aramis Ramirez with runners on the corners in the eighth to stop another Cubs threat.
