An ANC supporter has been shot and killed in Umlazi, south of Durban during the party's launching of its 2009 election campaign. Reports say the man was part of a group that was leaving the venue of the rally at King Zwelithini Stadium, when an unknown gunman started firing shots in their direction. He was shot and died on the scene. Earlier today, the Inkatha Freedom Party's (IFP) Ethekwini Metro chairperson - Bhekisisa Mthethwa - was fatally shot at Montclair railway station in Durban. He was on his way to work. Durban police are investigating both murders. Earlier members of the IFP were seen waving IFP flags on the Mangosuthu Highway which leads to the stadium.
