Woman Gets 2 Years Of Probation For Drunken Driving POSTED: 5:29 pm EDT August 7, 2008 UPDATED: 5:53 pm EDT August 7, 2008 OMAHA, Neb. -- A Nebraska woman who was driving a state ward while her blood-alcohol level was five times the state's legal limit pleaded guilty on Thursday to DUI and child abuse. Denise Thomson, 25, of Elkhorn, got two years of probation. She was pulled over in February after several motorists reported seeing the car she was driving swerve in and out of traffic. A child, who was a ward of the state, was in the back seat. At the time, Thomson was a contractor for the state's department of Health and Human Services. She pleaded guilty to driving under the influence and attempted negligent child abuse. Thomson was also ordered to spend 90 days in jail, but only the first seven days are mandatory. Defense...
