Ponson did just fine pitching for the Rangers in Arlington, but they released him because they believed he was disrupting their team unity. Picked up by the Yankees in June, Ponson beat the team that dropped him in a 5-3 Yankees win Wednesday night. Mariano Rivera, pitching for the first time since Aug. 1 because of back spasms, picked up his 27th save in 27 opportunities.
