Guzman, Zimmerman progressing

Infielders nearly ready to resume game action for Nationals DENVER -- It looks like Nationals third baseman Ryan Zimmerman and shortstop Cristian Guzman are getting over their injuries. Zimmerman, who hurt his right hand after being hit by a Kyle Kendrick pitch last Thursday, took batting practice twice on Monday. Zimmerman's hand is still swollen, but manager Manny Acta feels that the third baseman could be playing in a Major League game in a couple of days. As for Guzman, his left thumb is getting better and will take batting practice on Tuesday. Guzman, who recently agreed to a two-year extension, had a soft-tossing session in the cage on Monday.
