MARTINEZ (CBS 5 / KCBS) ― The famous beavers of Martinez have inspired a musical event that'll be held in their honor. It's called the Worth a Dam Beaver Festival 2008. Even though they've been subjected to news cameras, shutter bugs and tourists over the past few years, the beavers who built their dam in a flood control channel in downtown Martinez, appear unaffected. "We have the two parents, we have two yearlings from last year's litter, who should be dispersing in about a year, and we have the four brand new babies," said Linda Meza, with the beaver care taking association "Worth a Dam".
