Olympics & Human Rights: Nations Should Protest China

Actress Mia Farrow said Friday the world should use next month's Olympic Games as a platform to demand that China end its support for Myanmar's junta. During the recent cyclone recovery, Myanmar refused a great deal of the offered international aid. Most Western observers say the junta regime in Myanmar is so repressive and the people so lacking in basic necessities and human rights, that the government didn't want the expose of Western media. China, Myanmar's most important trading partner and ally, was asked by the international community to assist during the post-cyclone activity. But China, embroiled in its own earthquake, refused to intervene. Plus China believes that Myanmar sits atop a huge oil and gas wealth that will become available more over time....
