DS still fails to beat PSP in hardware race. July 25, 2008 - Japan's strange love affair of quests involving dragons shows no signs of letting up. The DS remake of part 5 in the Dragon Quest series topped the charts in its first week of release. Despite this, the DS still failed to beat the PSP, which remained once again atop the hardware chart. Media Create's latest report, covering July 14 to July 20, has Dragon Quest V selling 643,764 units in its first week. It handily beat Gundam Battle Universe for the PSP, which debuted in second at 137,550 units. Persona 4, last week's top placer, came in at third with 40,680 units, besting a PS3 newbie, Tears To Tiara, which sold 34,431 units. The rest of the top ten was packed with older titles.
