In 2004, while speaking at the World Economic Forum, Bill Gates assured us that by 2006 spam would be solved. Although spam-induced annoyances have persisted, there have been more prosecutions of evil spam operators. Robert Alan Soloway, aka The Spam King, was sentenced Tuesday to four years in federal prison for being a totally annoying (insert your favorite expletive here) with his millions of spam e-mails. Soloway faced charges that included using people's Internet domains to send out massive blasts of e-mails.
